Not sure if this mix is ready for prime time, so looking for feedback (if you care to provide it).

The set features a collection of pure 80's dance floor classics and includes hits from Frankie Goes To Hollywood, Animotion, Human League, Jellybean Benitez, Yaz, etc., and finishes with a medley of a few Madonna hits...

FYI: I've been putting these mixed sets together for an upcoming (local) nightclub reunion, so I'm not overly thrilled at the idea of including so much Madonna... but it's guaranteed to make people shake their ass, so I slapped it together (with shared credit given to DJ Jimbo’s Ultimix classic). But injecting too much Madonna into any mix simply makes me feel cheap and dirty! As my son says: She’s so played out ;) Or maybe I’m just jaded...?

Regardless, the mixes are flawless (of course - lol!), so hope you'll enjoy that aspect of the set... And again, any/all feedback is both welcome and appreciated!

Thanks much, Doc - appreciate your compliments! I was thinking I had too much Madonna; maybe I'll take your feedback on extending it a bit into consideration. FYI: The shorter songs/segments were "borrowed" from a pre-produced Ultimix compilation (as I credited in my original comment). But I could easily extend them by weaving in and out of the mix into the original songs. Again, creating this with a dance floor in mind sometimes clouds my thinking ;)

As for equipment: While I was born and raised mixing (solely) on turntables when I played back in the day, I now use just my HP laptop and MixMeister software to create these sets. I typically download songs from Limewire and always try to capture the best quality versions I can find. Finally, I rely on my ears to adjust e.q. (via the software) to get the most out of any particular song. Nothing more, nothing less...

Anyway, thanks (again!) for taking the time to comment. Glad you enjoyed the mix... I have a few others hosted under my profile you might also enjoy; similar in style and from that era.

Well paced mix, sound quality is excellent, (as are the mixes - you were right! lol!)my only comment is that perhaps the Madonna tracks could have been a little more spaced out, with other tracks mixed in. Just curious, what equipment do you use?

Very nicely done my friend! Yes I agree with the Madonna comments even though in todays clubs, the bitch still packs a dance floor.
